Progress Software’s Dan Foody To Feature in eBizQ Panel Discussion

Panel focuses on how organizations can successfully implement SOA Governance

Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a leading provider of application infrastructure software to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, announced that Dan Foody, vice president of Actional Products, will participate in a panel discussion regarding SOA Governance and IT Governance during eBizQ’s SOA Governance Conference on September 24th.

    • When:  Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. EDT
    • Where:  To register visit: http://www.ebizq.net/goldclub/register.php?r=http://www.ebizq.net/events/governance/registration/register.html?pcode=None-None
    • Who:    The live SOA Governance Roundtable panel discussion will feature Dan Foody, vice president of Actional Products as well as several additional industry experts including: Ann Thomas Manes, Burton Group, Jason Bloomberg, Zapthink and Joe McKendrick, ZDNet. The panelist will discuss how organizations can implement SOA governance, and will examine what works, what doesn’t and the tools and techniques that contribute to SOA Governance success.
    • Why:  SOA crosses departmental and organizational boundaries. The ability to reuse existing services developed by disparate development organizations requires comprehensive governance. Policies need to be consistently defined and managed for how services are designed and utilized during production. This full day virtual conference will cover the full range of governance issues and solutions including IT governance, SOA governance, data governance, registries, repositories, and run-time service governance.

As vice president of Actional Products at Progress Software, Dan Foody leverages over 20 years of enterprise software development to span the boundary between business and technology with service-oriented architectures (SOA).  Formerly serving as Chief Technology Officer for Actional Corp., Foody's experience with distributed systems technologies including middleware, integration and web services have provided him with a broad understanding and passion for solving today’s critical business issues with innovative technology solutions.  Most recently, Foody was the recipient of an InfoWorld CTO 25 award.
